The Flagg Township Museum
A unique testament of the life in the Flagg Township area is the Flagg Township Museum, which has some over 20,000 prehistoric and historic artefacts, with more being added regularly. A partin-Palmer automobile, which is the only known one in existence today, is one of the most notable artefacts of this museum. Apart from this, there are uniforms from the Civil and World Wars, pre-historic stone tools, student desks from one room schools and 18th-20th century men’s and women’s clothing. Originally, the building of this museum was a town hall and some of the architectural aspects of the building’s original function like the jail cell and historical fire station doors are well conserved and can be admired by the visitors. Rochelle Railroad Park
Yes, Rochelle is famous for train watching and it is an activity best done from the Rochelle Railroad Park. Within a span of 24 hours, around 80-120 trains cross Rochelle and that makes it a hot spot for watching trains. You would find both kids and adults enjoying this activity in the Railroad park. Opened in 1998, the park includes a handicap accessible observation pavilion with various vantage sites for the best visitor viewing. This makes it a highly frequented spot by photographers from across the country and the world.

Kennay Craft Distillery 
The largest craft distillery in the state of Illinois is housed in the historic Hub Theatre in downtown Rochelle. It is a family run distillery where grain is grown, harvested, milled, transported and distilled by a member of the Kennay family. The site boasts of a tasting room, where you can get a taste of the vodka and gin that is produced by the Kennays. Special mention goes to the flavoured gin that is available in coriander, lemongrass, juniper and orange peel flavours. Others spirit available for tasting and buying are Bourbon and Whiskey that are aged for 3-3.5 years in the Rickhouse, just west of the distillery. You can get a tour of the distillery by booking the guided tour that is available on the first Sunday of each month at 4.30 PM for USD 20. The tour ticket also includes a complimentary beverage and Vodka tasting.
